Wendy Watson
Wendy Watson is the Nutrition Program Manager at Cancer Council NSW. She has worked in the Nutrition Unit as a nutrition project officer for almost seven years on food policy projects. She has published on food labelling and food marketing to children. Wendy's work incorporates using advocacy to contribute to food policy debate. She manages the Junkbusters campaign, a Cancer Council NSW initiative to reduce exposure of children to junk food marketing.
Wendy has a degree in Chemistry and a Masters of Applied Science in Nutrition. She previously worked for five years supporting schools to implement the NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy.
Wendy is the lead author of recent studies Advertising to children initiatives have not reduced unhealthy food advertising on Australian television published in the Journal of Public Health and Sponsorship of junior sport development programs in Australia published in the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Public Health.
