Steven Kelly
Steven Kelly is a consultant Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgeon at Christchurch hospital, New Zealand. Specialty areas include all aspects of bariatric surgery, benign and malignant oesophagogastric disorders and complex hernia. He is a senior clinical lecturer at the University of Otago involved in teaching and research. Steven is a member of the New Zealand association of General Surgeons training board.
He obtained his fellowship in General Surgery in New Zealand. Then spent 2 years in the United Kingdom as a senior fellow in Oesophagogastric and Bariatric surgery. His first year was at Addenbrookes hospital, Cambridge. The following year was at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, Scotland and then Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.
Steven has a passion for the treatment of obesity and the promotion of bariatric surgery in New Zealand.
